Japan 2019 day 1

Day1:
We took a bus from NGO to Hatamatsu.  Then went by car from the bus station to a suburb.  I noticed that the foliage in the median and side walks are overgrown throughout the region, something u rarely see in the USA.  The grass is about w ft high and protrudes through bushes.

They use drive on the left.side of the road, like most of the world. There are traffic signals that have a green arrow left, forward.  At the same time there is a red light in the same lane.  Which of the 3 lights does one obey?  It was later explained to me that this means yield to crossing traffic.

Bidets are popular here. The Japanese versions are electronic, very fancy, with many buttons...all in Japanese. There is also a sin on top of the toliet.  I assume the water that goes to the sink fills the toliet replenishes the toilet.

At the train station we got to experience the noise and force of a bullet train. Standing on the platform one gets a greater appreciation of the term hit by a train when he experiences the shock wave from a 200 mph train.
